Rupert Murdoch Marries for the Fifth Time in Ceremony at His California Vineyard

NEW YORK -- Media magnate Rupert Murdoch, 93, has married for the fifth time, as confirmed by his corporation, News Corp, on Sunday.

Murdoch and Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist originally from Russia, exchanged vows on Saturday at his vineyard estate in Bel Air, California. News Corp released photographs of the newlyweds, who had announced their engagement in March.

Murdoch's previous marriage was to model and actor Jerry Hall. They were married in 2016 and divorced in 2022.

Zhukova was formerly married to Alexander Zhukov, a billionaire energy investor and Russian politician. Their daughter, Dasha, was previously married to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the former owner of the Premier League soccer club Chelsea.

Last fall, Murdoch stepped down as the leader of both Fox News' parent company and News Corp. His son, Lachlan Murdoch, succeeded him, taking charge of a media empire that spans continents and has significantly influenced modern American politics.

Murdoch inherited a newspaper in Australia from his father in 1952. Over the following decades, he expanded it into a global news and entertainment enterprise, which includes prominent newspapers such as The Times of London and The Wall Street Journal.

The Fox News Channel, a 24-hour network founded in 1996, has had a significant impact on television, becoming a primary news source for many conservative audiences and politicians in the U.S.
